Puzzle Combat: The Ultimate Match-3 RPG Adventure

This week, we spoke with the CEO of Zynga-owned Small Giant Games Jose Saarniniemi ahead of the launch of Puzzle Combat, a new match-three puzzle RPG that follows on from the $1 billion hit Empires & Puzzles.

Puzzle Combat matches players in player-versus-player battles with other players around the world. To achieve combat dominance, players summon hundreds of individualised powerful heroes, each with unique abilities, and collect different weapons to upgrade and use in the field.

Puzzle Combat

Our Empires & Puzzles title is a fantasy-themed puzzle RPG and with Puzzle Combat we can extend the theme with more modern elements like heroes and enemies with game structures that introduce new types of live events and missions.

We believe that there is room for this type of game. The core gameplay is related to the match-three mechanic but it has a lot of additional elements that make it stand out from many puzzle titles on the market.

Parents need to know that Puzzle Combat: Match-3 RPG is a puzzle game for iOS and Android devices. Players can buy various packages of gold for $4.99 to $99.99 to be used in the game, but you can also earn gold through play to use on other types of in-app currency and items. They can, for instance, spend gold to purchase food if they don't have the amount of it that's required to train and level up heroes -- which helps reduce the need to spend any real-world money. The number of elements the app contains, ranging from items that are crafted to use in combat to the structures and process involved in training, may end up being a larger issue because some things aren't explained in detail. There are also some violent elements in the app. Numerous guns are given as rewards, and characters have unique battle skills, such as the ability to conduct an anti-armor strike, that are used in matching games. Players' opponents, though, are mythical creatures like zombies, not humans.

Pick from hundreds of incredible heroes and form a team of guardians to protect Earth from the forces of evil. Equip your heroes with all sorts of incredible, deadly weapons, then go to war against players around the world in exciting PvP combat.

Gamers who download Puzzle Combat primarily for the match three puzzles may wind up a bit disappointed. Even with the gratifying addition of more tactical gameplay, the battles are relatively easy and quickly beaten. Given that each fight requires energy from a finite supply, you can only enjoy a handful of matches before your tank is empty. Then you must choose between waiting for your energy to regen or using coins, obtained by playing the game or spending real cash, to refill your pool more quickly.

Puzzle Combat offers a new take on the tried and true match three puzzle game. Overall, it is entertaining and helps you pass the time. However, the addition of features like base building and improving heroes overpowers the match three element of the game. This creates an imbalance that I found more annoying than fun. As a result, I turned to other match three games to satisfy that craving and never had any urge to play this one again.

Every footstep, every metal clank of armor or swing of a blade illuminates your path with a wave of sonic resonance. Stride with care to avoid pressure plates that spring traps. Each level features new mechanics, secrets to discover and puzzles to solve. Customize your adventuring experience by assigning colors to different kinds of threats and environmental features. Use your wits and every resource at your disposal to defy fate and escape!

Viz Media's premiere foray into video games comes with The World Next Door. In this narrative-driven title with puzzle combat, you control Jun, a young girl trapped in parallel world inhabited by demons and other colorful characters. Throughout the adventure, you make decisions through dialogue options and form relationships with the various characters in your party.

I think it'd be really fun to see the party react to these unexpected situations and how they solve the problems. It's especially important to me to make combat challenging in ways other than just big numbers of monsters because my party is so magical and heal-heavy. They don't have the best strategy but they more than make up for it in HP.

Puzzle Combat: Match-3 RPG is a role playing game from Zynga studio. You have to assemble a team of heroes to fight zombies and save the world. The game can be divided into 3 parts: collecting and upgrading characters and their equipment, building a headquarters and conducting battles in the Match-3 puzzle format. Various PvP and PvE activities are provided for you, including as part of alliances. The game features beautiful and vibrant graphics, a variety of characters, good music and addictive gameplay.

How to find my prey? When you receive combat items and loot in the game, you will see a notification (if you are not in the game, it will appear after logging in) with a description of each item received. If you missed the notification, you can also:

You can select equipment in the "Change team" mode. To take an item into battle, click on the empty cell under the inscription: "Combat Equipment" and select the item you want to use. Combat equipment can also be seen in the corresponding inventory category. You can remove combat equipment by selecting it and clicking the red X in the upper right corner of the selected item.

Gold is also shown. The use of gold, crafting consumables and combat equipment is not displayed. Food, metal and recruits are also not displayed. It may take several minutes for the most recent activity to appear in the list.

There are several benefits to joining an alliance, including the chance to receive rank and workshop consumables, combat gear, food, iron, and experience rewards for fighting war machines, as well as the ability to communicate with other active players who can answer questions on the game or give advice.

The goal of alliance wars is to earn points for your alliance by defeating enemy heroes with the military attack team. During an alliance war, the player can attack many times with different attack commands. Each hero can only be used to attack in an alliance war once. Defense teams support the rules of war in combat (artillery screens, attack booster, or field assistance).

Difficulty levels. Alliance Operations have 3 difficulty levels: Normal, Veteran, and Elite. Veteran and elite levels open when the union scores a certain number of points. Each difficulty level has limits on the rarity of heroes, weapons, and combat equipment that can be used. In addition to level restrictions, each operation has event obstacles that become stronger as players overcome the difficulties.

The match, or puzzle board, is completely random. It reshuffles when there are no combinations found. It is not related to team strengths or the players, however, the colors correspond to the color type of your heroes.

One of the new features that has been detailed thoroughly by these previews is the game's battle system, which will be significantly different to previous entries in the Paper Mario series. Not only are combat sections more puzzle-based, seeing players maneuver a board within a time limit to lineup perfect hits, but they also seem to vary much more between different types of encounters.

It seems there's three specific forms of combat utilized within Paper Mario: Origami King's gameplay, with the most common being Mario's battles with lesser powered enemies. These see Mario stand in the center of a large battlefield made out of several rings, with the iconic plumber's foes each standing in different areas of these exterior circles. The aim of these battles is for the player to spin each of these rings and force as many enemies as possible into a line, allowing Mario to stomp over them. Alternatively, players can also arrange foes into a 2x2 square as well, allowing them to utilize Mario's hammer to inflict some serious damage.

This whole battle system gets flipped on its head when players encounter a boss, however, with the huge, towering foe taking Mario's original position at the center of the circle. This time, the player has to shift the board to create a pathway to certain spaces within the circle, the likes of which can grant health or allow Mario to unleash a powerful attack against his gargantuan opponent. Finally, there's a completely different battle system used to combat enemies lying in wait in the open-world. These are known as "Paper Macho" opponents, and they'll require real-time combat to take down. Mario will have to hit weak spots located on their bodies while trying to dodge and strafe their powerful attacks.

Overall, it seems as though Paper Mario: The Origami King will offer some fun combat that aims to make players think as well. Luckily, it won't be long until fans get to try their hand at it either, with the title releasing in just over a week's time.

Puzzle Combat matches players in PvP battles with other players around the world. To achieve combat dominance, players summon hundreds of individualized powerful heroes, each with unique abilities, and collect different weapons to upgrade and use in the field. As players progress, they can also join alliances to share best tactics and compete in challenging team events to promote their heroes, advance together and form the ultimate fighting force.

Zynga and Small Giant Games have come together again to bring players Puzzle Combat. A sister title to Empires & Puzzles, the mobile game offers a little something for every kind of player. Puzzle Combat is a match-3 puzzle game that incorporates player vs. player (PvP) and player vs. environment (PvE) content. On top of this, there are base-building and role-playing (RPG) elements present that blend together to offer a unique game that's easy to dive into but difficult to master.

Under its match-3 surface, there are RPG elements at play in Puzzle Combat. Players will be able to add and swap members of their team, upgrade their equipment and level them up. In addition to this, the title also features base-building elements that'll support players as they grow and power up their roster. Explaining how the base building and RPG elements come together in Puzzle Combat, Kim explained, "The meta experience of building your base is going to make your gameplay more powerful in the future. Not only are you playing great puzzles with your community and friends, but you'll be able to make yourself and your group more powerful." 2ff7e9595c
